Winner of the Poetry Wales Purple Moose Prize for 2012. Judges Zoë Skoulding and John Barnie made their choice of the best short collection of poems, submitted anonymously, from extensive entry. The winner receives £250, plus publication. Maps and Love Songs for Mina Loy is an exciting exploration of form and subject. The poems in this pamphlet evolved from responses to sounds created by Mina Loy in her Lunar Baedeker poems. Loy (1882-1966) was an artist, poet, playwright, novelist, and both a Futurist and a Christian Scientist. Her literary admirers included Eliot, Pound, Bunting, Stein and William Carlos Williams.
