Alice Hughes

Alice Hughes is a writer from Wales. She grew up in North Wales and studied French and Music at Cardiff University before completing a master’s in French Literature at the University of Oxford. Alice’s writing spans travel, place, arts and culture. She has twice been shortlisted for the Observer/Anthony Burgess Prize for Arts Journalism, winning the runner-up prize in 2024 for her review of the film Anatomy of a Fall. Life has taken her to Paris, Brussels and London and she now lives in Cardiff with her partner and their two cats. Her first book Every Other Hour is publishing in September 2026.
