On 27th May, Gemma June Howell will be at Hay Festival discussing her darkly comic debut novel The Crazy Truth with author Rachel Trezise. Girlo Wolf longs for something beyond the defunct slag heaps of post-industrial Wales and nurtures dreams of becoming a poet. But, struggling with mental health challenges and the repercussions of childhood trauma, she falls into a dark underworld of sex, drugs and alcohol. Tickets £11.
We had a wonderful evening reflecting on the essays in ‘The Waters That Raised Us’ at @ffotogallery in Cardiff a few months ago. We were joined by contributors @tayloredmonds, @kathrynellentann, @cjwagstaff1, @moedwards_, @sofia_brizio and @joshuajoneswrites who read from their work and answered questions from the audience. Back in March we had a fantastic time celebrating publication of ‘Muslim Wales’ by @azimwales with an event at Cardiff University.
