Losing Israel longlisted in Best Travel Book Poll


Jasmine Donahaye’s Losing Israel has been longlisted in the New Welsh Review Best Travel Book Poll.
The longlist of 20 titles has been selected by co-judges Gwen Davies and Rory MacLean with nominations from the students of the University of South Wales and librarians across Wales. The shortlist and winner will be revealed on 1 June and 7 July respectively.

About Losing Israel:Jasmine Donahaye’s search for her family’s past and the part her forebears played in the newly created Israel reveals unsettling knowledge about kibbutzim and land clearances in northern Israel. Challenged by this new and unwonted information Donahaye’s notion of history and her understanding of Israel, of her grandparents and of her identity is completely transformed.
