Recharge in the new year. A series of four poetry and mindfulness sessions with Cath Drake, for writers to explore techniques to recharge their wellbeing and creativity. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress and improve well-being, clarity, focus and creativity. Cath has thrown in a sprinkling of poetry and a session of writing together for a weekly uplift! These four sessions are a fresh start to the day in the UK, or perhaps a wind down in Australia nearing the end of the day. Each session focuses on a theme to spur positive wellbeing, with a prompt for writing. You don’t have to be writer or poet to enjoy the sessions. Try the first session or sign up for all four. Cath Drake’s collection The Shaking City (Seren 2020), highly commended in the 2020 Forward Prizes, was described by Philip Gross as ‘a guide to staying clear-eyed, combative and caring in unsettling times.’. It follows Sleeping with Rivers (2014) which won the Seren/Mslexia poetry pamphlet prize and was a Poetry Book Society choice.
