Angela Graham and Dr. Frank Ferguson | The Short Story as Witness | Live Zoom Event
Angela Graham considers the potential of the short story as witness statement. How does it drive towards implication, towards response, and the assumption or rejection of responsibility? Angela’s collection A City Burning (Seren 2020) is longlisted for the Edge Hill Short Story Prize. Its 26 stories are set in Northern Ireland, Wales, and Italy. They have been praised for their clarity of voice, economy of expression, and cinematic quality and for their use of languages other than English. Dr. Frank Ferguson, Director of the Centre for Irish and Scottish Literature at the University of Ulster will interview Angela on how the short story form sits with the rest of her work as a filmmaker and writer. A Q+A will follow. The event is free. To book visit: www.linenhall.com/events/short-story-as-witness and you will receive a Zoom link via email on the day of the event.
