Jo Mazelis Nominated for Pushcart Prize

16 November 2015 - 09:54am

Jo Mazelis, author of the Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize-winning novel Significance, has been nominated for The Pushcart Prize for her short story, 'Whose Story is this Anyway?'.

Since 1976 The Pushcart Prize has accepted nominations of poetry, short stories and essays exclusively from small magazines and presses across the world, where the select few will be chosen for publication in the latest edition of The Pushcart Prize: Best of the Small Presses series. Next year's collection, for which Jo's story has been nominated, will be a celebration of 40 years of the prize.

Mazelis joins five other nominees from The Lonely Crowd, a magazine devoted to the short story which was founded by Wales Arts Review's Fiction Editor Dr. John Lavin, including fellow Welsh author Stevie Davies. Jenn Ashworth, Medbh McGuckian, Nuala Ní Chonchúir and Matt Rader have also been nominated.
