Those curious about the state of Welsh writing could hope for little better introduction than last night's Oxfam Readathon, which brought an extraordinary cross-section of literart talent straight to the Milgi yurt. The standout performance of the evening came from Seren author Peter Finch. Two Seren poets have been shortlisted for 2010 Forward Prizes. Hilary Menos' Berg  for the  Best First Collection prize and Kate Bingham's poem 'On Highgate Hill'  for Best Single Poem prize. The winners will be announced at a venue in London on 6th October, the eve of  National Poetry Day. Good luck to both!
