Join Emily Hinshelwood (On Becoming a Fish) at Canolfan Maerdy for a writing workshop in which participants will be encouraged to transform their memories, anecdotes, newscuttings, photographs, into a book about their connections with Ammanford and the Swansea Valleys, which will be released before Christmas this year. Participants will have the opportunity to write their stories in any form they choose - whether it be poetry, prose or a script - and no previous writing experience is necessary, only enthusiasm! Join Kim Moore and the other Forward Poetry Prizes 2015 finalists at the Royal Festival Hall in London at 7:00pm on Monday 28th September, where they will be reading their shortlisted work. As part of the centenary celebrations for Alun Lewis, the WW2 writer will be the focus of the David Jones Centre's 4th Annual Conference. This one day conference at the Y Drwm, the National Library of Wales will include papers by Alan Vaughan Jones, Peter Morgan, Nerys Williams and a keynote address by Lewis biographer, John Pikoulis.
