You are invited to the launch of a new anthology of contemporary poetry which contains some of the finest poetry published in Wales this century. A Last Respect, published in 2021, includes poems by the winners of the Roland Mathias Prize over the last fifteen years. The session will feature the editors of the anthology, Professor Daniel Williams and Glyn Mathias, and will be chaired by Christopher Meredith, author of Still and Please. Seren poetry editor Amy Wack leads our poetry showcase celebrating 40 years of Seren. The first book published by Seren when it was founded in 1981, was a collection of poetry called The Common Land by Welsh poet Mike Jenkins. As we continue to celebrate our anniversary, we are excited to announce the Seren at 40 Poetry Showcase. In this online workshop with Elizabeth Parker, you will explore exciting poems and experiment with structure, form and language in your writing as you create new work. Polly Atkin’s new collection Much With Body is a Poetry Book Society winter choice.
