Do you want to discover more about poetry? Have you been looking for a place to perform your own poetry? Why not come along to a Ledbury Poetry Salon, which includes an Open Mic and Featured Poets reading and chatting about their work. This month's Featured Poet is Elizabeth Parker whose first full collection, In Her Shambles, was published by Seren in April 2018.  Elizabeth's poetry has been shortlisted for The Bridport Poetry Prize and The Gregory O’Donoghue Poetry Prize. She was a prizewinner in the 2016 Troubadour International Poetry Prize. Tickets: £5 on the door.​

First Thursday is back for 2020 and joining us on the 6th February is poet Philip Gross who will be reading some new material, as well as poems from his forthcoming Bloodaxe collection Between the Islands.  Doors open 7:30pm. Followed by our usual open mic. Entry is £3 on the door.

Jonathan Edwards will be running a workshop at Buzzwords, the monthly poetry reading and open mic night in Cheltenham. The workshop will be followed readings from Jonathan and an open mic. Jonathan's latest collection Gen (Seren, 2018)  received the Wales Book of the Year People's Choice Award.  His first collection, My Family and Other Superheroes (Seren, 2014), received the Costa Poetry Award and the Wales Book of the Year People's Choice Award. .
