A reading to celebrate Carol Ann Duffy’s final project as the Poet Laureate, a commission in The Guardian for which she has invited a group of fellow poets including Seren Poet, Yvonne Reddick, to respond to the collapse in the insect population. Yvonne is an exponent and practitioner of ‘eco-poetry’  and her poetry pamphlet Translating Mountains (Seren 2017) won the  Mslexia Poetry Pamphlet Prize. Author and photographer Phil Cope will be talking about his latest book The Living Wells of Wales (Seren 2019). Phil takes us on a journey through the sacred wells of Wales where he discovers wells in city centres and, quite literally, in the middle of nowhere – on mountainsides, in deserted valleys, on the coast, in sea caves. Jonathan Edwards will be reading from his latest collection Gen (Seren 2018)  featuring his characteristic humour, warmth formal range and swaggering music. His popular and critically lauded debut collection, My Family and Other Superheroes (Seren 2014) was the winner of that year's Costa Poetry Award and the Wales Book of the Year People’s Choice award. Free entry for both audience and open mic contributors. There will also be a raffle, with prizes.
