Join Emily Blewitt, Christina Thatcher and Lisa Matthews for an evening of poetry about grief, love, addiction, womanhood, depression, journeys and cats. Emily Blewitt's eagerly awaiting debut collection, This is Not a Rescue is out now from Seren. The poems move in various registers, keyed to their subject-matter and the author’s appealingly wry, thoughtful manner, a delightfully circuitous wit, and her pointed intelligence, make this book one of the best and most entertaining debuts you are likely to read this year. Admission to the event is free.

Join us for July’s First Thursday event at Chapter, Cardiff. This month’s special guests are Yvonne Reddick, who will be reading from her Mslexia Prize-winning pamphlet, Translating Mountains, and Siobhán Campbell, with new collection Heat Signature. After the readings we will have our famous Open Mic, and all are welcome to read up to one poem, or one A4 page of prose. Tickets: £2.50 on the door (redeemable against purchase of a book)
