This panel showcases two important contemporary writers working in and out of Wales: novelist Alys Conran (shortlisted for the 2017 Dylan Thomas Prize) and Jonathan Edwards whose debut poetry collection, My Family and Other Superheroes (Seren 2014) was winner of the Costa Prize for that year. Bringing together poetry and prose, readings and interviews, this event seeks to demonstrate something of the vibrancy of Wales’s post-Devolution Anglophone writing scene and to explore its emergence out of Welsh cultural, linguistic, and political contexts. Katrina Naomi is the host of Penzance Poetry Parlour, an occasional reading series with invited poets which begins on 5th June. Katrina has booked top poets Jo Bell and Tania Hershman.
