The atmospheric Horeb Chapel is the perfect location for a moonlight reading of Jo Mazelis’s award winning poetry. Jo is a novelist, short story writer, poet, photographer and essayist who was born and educated in Swansea, where she currently lives with her husband, the historian, Mark Matthews. Her debut novel Significance (Seren, 2014) won The Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize in 2015 and her latest book, Ritual, 1969 (Seren, 2016) was recently voted one of the ten best Welsh books of 2016 by Wales Arts Review. The reading will be accompanied by Elsa Davies, Ceri Owen Jones and Jason Lawday ...

Meet Fflur Dafydd for a late morning talk about her TV programmes and award winning debut feature Y Llyfrgell/Library Suicides. The film, directed by multi award winning director Euros Lyn, (Doctor Who, Broadchurch, Happy Valley) was based on her novel which won the 2009 Daniel Owen Memorial Prize. This offbeat thriller premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival and won an award for Best Performance in a British Feature. Murder at the Star

Landeilo LitFest proudly presents a late addition to the programme, an event of particular local interest: Murder at the Star (Seren 2015) a book which examines an unresolved murder in Garnant, a Welsh mining village near Ammanford, Carmarthenshire. Steve Adams, local journalist and Seren author, will be talking murder, coal and missing fingers. He’ll give a short talk, read from the book and then take questions. Free Admission. Jen Jones will talk about her book Welsh Quilts (Seren 2016) - the definitive book on the subject - with an exhibition of some of her fine quilt collection. Jen is a leading expert on Welsh quilts and blankets and travels the world giving talks on the subject. She will discuss both quilts and her book at Llandeilo LitFest.
