Come along the The Murenger in Newport for a night of poetry with special guests Paul Deaton and Claire Williamson. Paul Deaton will be reading from his PBS Recommended debut collection, A Watchful Astronomy. Claire Williamson will read poems from her forthcoming collection, Visiting the Minotaur (Seren, 2018).

OUTSPEAK: Ekphrastic Poetry and Creative Process with Dr Rhiannon Hooson whose debut collection The Other City was published by Seren in 2016. Ekphrastic poems are those inspired by or referencing a work in another artform, usually visual art. Jaki  McCarrick has a reading of her new play Bohemians directed by Tilly Vosburgh. Jaki  is an award-winning writer of plays, poetry, and fiction. Leopdoldville won the 2010 Papatango New Writing Prize. Belfast Girls, developed at the National Theatre London, was shortlisted for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and the 2014 BBC Tony Doyle Award.
