Tamar Yoseloff & Carrie Etter | Poetry in Aldeburgh

Books for Disquieting Times. Join Tamar Yoseloff, Carrie Etter, Matthew Caley and Kate Noakes for readings that explore the times in which we find ourselves. Tamar's new collection The Black Place (Seren 2019) is a dark and gorgeously multi-faceted work that eschews the sentimental, embraces alternatives and offers antidotes to cheery capitalist hype. The book's subjects include Georgia O'Keeffe, the poet's cancer diagnosis and treatment, and the Grenfell Tower fire disaster. Carrie Etter's The Weather in Normal (Seren 2018) is her fourth poetry collection and focuses on her hometown of Normal, Illinois, in the American Midwest.  The collection explores themes of memory and recollection, of mature reflections on youthful experiences, of multiple, shifting perspectives, it is not a set of straightforward memories but a slowly shifting entity, like a moving storm.  Tickets £10.
