Phil Cope | Sustainable Wales Green Room

The latest speaker at Sustainable Wales’s Green Room  is author and photographer Phil Cope. His latest book The living Wells of Wales was published by Seren in 2019. It is the fourth title in the Holy Wells series, and is preceded by volumes on Scotland, Cornwall and the Borderlands. Phil’s talk will concentrate on Porthcawl’s own wells, including his rediscoverey of ‘Burrows Well’/Ffynnon y Twyni, located in the ‘ancient monument’ area of Newton Burrows. He will also be speaking about the ‘Schwyll’ aquifer, otherwise known as ‘the great spring of Glamorgan’, one of the largest springs in the UK. Entrance: £4 on the door.
