Paul Henry and Brian Biggs | Oxford Literary Festival

The Glass Aisle: Poetry and Song. Poet Paul Henry and lead singer of the Oxfordshire band, Stornoway, Brian Briggs join forces for a session of poetry and song featuring their recent collaboration on the long poem, The Glass Aisle, a long poem inspired by the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal close to Henry’s home and its associations with the radio pioneer Marconi and an old union workhouse. He has composed song adaptions of the poem with Briggs, who is a member of the critically acclaimed Oxford indie folk band Stornoway. Henry will read poems from his collections The Brittle Sea and Boy Running before being joined onstage by Brian Briggs, who will perform songs from The Glass Aisle. Tickets £12.50.
