Martyn Crucefix | Cheltenham Poetry Festival
Martyn Crucefix will be reading from his seventh collection, The Lovely Disciples (Seren 2017). Martyn has won numerous prizes including a major Eric Gregory award and a Hawthornden Fellowship . His work has been described as ‘superbly intelligent, urgent, heartfelt, controlled and masterful’ by Poetry London. The Lovely Disciplines steps straight into a contemporary world where cursors blink, people Skype, consult Google Street View and make erotically-charged visits to the opticians. Acuteness of observation is one of the ‘lovely disciplines’ in this beautifully accomplished book. Martyn will be joined by American novelist Lania Knight who will read from her new novel Remnant – a science fiction novel set in the American Midwest. Tickets: £5.00 - £7.00. For further information and to book visit the Festival website: www.cheltenhampoetryfest.co.uk or ring the Box Office on 01242 220860.
