ONLINE COURSE

Jonathan Edwards & Kim Moore | Writing Poetry: Virtual Course

Join us on a Tŷ Newydd writing course from your own home for a week of experimenting with poetry. Group workshops to inspire new work and techniques will be delivered digitally in the mornings, with afternoons set aside for your writing. You will take part in one-to-one tutorials with both Jonathan and Kim to help you improve and hone your individual poems. You will also be offered the opportunity to meet in small groups informally to discuss your progress. To inspire your own work, you will be invited to join two exclusive evenings of poetry readings: one evening featuring the tutors, and another mid-week reading by our guest reader, Inua Ellams. The course will end on Friday with a celebration of the poetry you will have created during the course. Jonathan Edwards first collection, My Family and Other Superheroes (Seren, 2014), received the Costa Poetry Award and the Wales Book of the Year People's Choice Award, and was shortlisted for the Fenton Aldeburgh First Collection Prize. His second collection, Gen (Seren, 2018), also received the Wales Book of the Year People's Choice Award. Kim Moore’s first collection The Art of Falling (Seren, 2015) won the 2016 Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. Her poem In that year from this collection was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Single Poem 2015. The course fee is from £275 per person.
