The opening event of the National Eisteddfod of Wales on Anglesey will see the premiere of a new musical commission by the composer Paul Mealor to words by Seren author Grahame Davies to commemorate the centenary of the death of the Welsh First World War poet, Hedd Wyn.  The piece, entitled ‘Gorffwysgan Hedd Wyn’, commissioned by the Eisteddfod, will be performed by the 250-strong Eisteddfod choir, and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.  There are limited tickets still available: £25 Adults/£17 Under 16's.
