Christopher Meredith | Crickhowell Literary Festival (In Person)

In what may be a unique literary event, Christopher Meredith has published a novel and a collection of poems simultaneously in 2021. In conversation with Tom Bullough, Chris will discuss and read from both. The poems in Still (Seren 2021) use the title word as a fulcrum to balance paradoxical concerns: stillness and motion, memory and forgetting, sanity and madness, survival and extinction. His novel Please (Seren 2021) is a verbally dazzling tragicomedy about hidden passion and regret in which elderly language geek Vernon struggles to write the story of his long marriage. Tickets from £7.00. For further details and to book visit: www.eventbrite.co.uk For more information about the Crickhowell Literary Festival visit:  www.cricklitfest.co.uk

Chris is the award-winning author of five novels, a book of short stories, five collections of poetry and he also translates Welsh to English. Prizes include an Eric Gregory Award, the Arts Council of Wales Young Writer Prize, both for poetry, and the Fiction Prize for his first novel, Shifts (Seren 1997), which was also shortlisted for the title of Greatest Welsh Novel of All Time.
