Richard Collins

Richard Collins was, among other things, a farm labourer, gardener and estate worker. He lived with his family in west Wales and taught at the Institute of Rural Sciences in Llanbadarn for Aberystwyth University. His debut novel for Seren, The Land as Viewed from the Sea (2004), was shortlisted for the Whitbread First Novel Prize. His other works include two further novels: Overland (2006) and The Quality of Light (2011), and a travel book/memoir The Road to Zagora (2015) about his response to being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
