Arthur Gwynn-Browne (1904-1963) was educated at Oxford University. He served as an officer in the British Army in World War II and was involved in the Dunkirk evacuation; this experience formed the basis for F.S.P., a six month account of service with the British Expeditionary Force in France up to and including the events on the beaches at Dunkirk. His novel Gone for a Burton was published in 1945.
